Richard Hanson, D.C.
Background and Education
Dr. Hanson’s interests in unified healthcare began when a Chiropractor first fixed his chronically sore jaw (the temporal mandibular joint) using Applied Kinesiology, from an old soccer injury. Since then, he has come to realize that unified healthcare, using both Chiropractic and Kinesiology, is a superb way to provide holistic health for someone’s overall needs, while still focusing upon their specific health complaint. Giving one’s health a chance to heal on its own first, he believes, is an important option to offer.
Having experienced first-hand the healing benefits of Kinesiology with Chiropractic, Dr. Hanson knew what he wanted to do. He turned his educational focus and training upon the “triad of health”; the equal interaction of the musculoskeletal, biochemical/ organic and neurologic systems of personal health.
In pursuing a background in comprehensive healthcare, Dr. Hanson now has attained degrees in Psychology and Human Bio-chemistry, in addition to his Doctorate in Chiropractic. He graduated in 1987 with honors from the National College of Chiropractic (N.C.C.), and was awarded the Gonstead Scholarship while there. At N.C.C., Dr. Hanson was also named to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and the National Deans List honor rolls. It was also there that he began his training and education in Applied Kinesiology. By the time of his graduation, Dr. Hanson was fully trained and certified in Applied Kinesiology, with hundred’s of additional hours of subsequent training in AK as well.
Since graduation, he has had the good fortune of working with Chiropractors experienced in Applied Kinesiology, gaining invaluable experience from them. He has also assisted in teaching the 100-hour certification course in A.K. to chiropractors and student chiropractors. Additionally, while maintaining an active practice, Dr. Hanson has had occasion to teach a college level course in Biological Psychology as an adjunctive instructor. As well, unified health care has provided Dr. Hanson the opportunity to present various lectures and presentations to schools, colleges, universities, organizations, radio and television on the “triad of health” and the body/mind axis, while maintaining his active practice.
Chiropractic and natural health care have entered the mainstream with a flourish. Join us, won’t you, in renewing your health in the new millennium?
